EAEU to give a potent impetus for all-round economic modernization, Nazarbayev

Presidents Serzh Sargsyan of Armenia and Almazbek Atambayev of Kyrgyzstan, and head of the Eurasian Economic Commission board Viktor Khristenko joined the talks involving the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus. The heads of state debated the preparations of the agreement on Armenia's accession to the EAEU and the road map on Kyrgyzstan's joining the Customs Union. "I am confident that the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Union will be a powerful stimulus for the development and comprehensive modernization of our countries. Seven issues have been imposed on the agenda of the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council", said President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. He has offered to pose the city of Almaty as a financial center of the Eurasian Economic Community. "We agreed that the Eurasian Economic Commission will be located in Moscow which will be the economic center of the Eurasian Economic Union. Although there were other offers: Eurasian court will be in Minsk. It is planned to create a supranational financial market regulation body in Almaty in 2025. I propose to pose Almaty as a financial center of the Eurasian Economic Union before the establishment of the regulation body", said the President speaking at the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in the expanded format.
The President expressed confidence that the establishment of the EAEU will become a powerful impetus for the development and modernization of the member countries. The President of Armenia expressed gratitude for the invitation to attend such a historic event as signing of the EAEU Treaty and participate in the sitting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. The Kyrgyz Leader noted that the idea to set up the Eurasian Economic Union put forward by Nursultan Nazarbayev is put into practice. "I am confident that the EAEU will become an efficient organization to create mutual benefit area for economic development of all its members. CU and EAEU integration of Kyrgyzstan is a deliberate decision and the most important direction of the economic policy," Atambayev said. He also expressed gratitude to Kazakhstan and Russia for assistance in developing a mechanism to support Kyrgyzstan's economy during the transitional period.
