Due to the rising birth rate Astana faces shortage of kindergartens. If in 2008 there were born 12,487 children, then the number of children born in 2010 reached 17,000.

The problem was partially solved last year when about 50 new kindergartens were put into operation. Thus, more than 11,000 new kindergarten places were created. This year it is planned to launch 27 kindergartens with 8,775 places in total.
