The Kazakh diplomat told about the main provisions of the Kazakh President's state-of-the-nation address as of January 28, 2011, results of the Nazarbayev's visit to Brussels in October 2010, particularly on the decision to form a business council 'Kazakhstan-Belgium', results of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the OSCE and the initiative of Kazakhstan on holding antinuclear forum in Astana in October 2011.
Herman de Croo praised the initiatives of Kazakhstan in the international arena, in particular on nuclear nonproliferation, strengthening of global security, and development of inter-religious dialogue.
Utembayev informed of the planned activities within the framework of Kazakh-Belgian cooperation, including the June sitting of the EU-Kazakhstan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee and opening ceremony of a monument dedicated to victims of nuclear tests in the museum in Ypres, which was presented by the President of Kazakhstan to the Belgian Prime Minister during his official visit to Brussels.
The sides agreed to hold the next sitting of the parliamentary friendship group this year.
