Dubai hosts lavish celebration of Nowruz

ABU DHABI. March 23. KAZINFORM Families of Kazakhstan citizens temporary working and residing in the United Arab Emirates marked Nauryz (Nowruz) holiday, one of the most important and favorite holidays, in Dubai.

More than three hundred Kazakhstanis gathered at Al-Safa Park in Dubai for the first time ever. The park located in the heart of Dubai turned into a place of Nowruz celebrations. Kazakhstanis residing in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and other emirates came to the park to meet and greet their compatriots.

The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Abu Dhabi and the consulate general in Dubai arranged a traditional national yurt. The guests of the event could taste the delicious dishes of national cuisine.

Distinguished guests from the consulates of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan were also in attendance.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the UAE Askar Mussinov and consul general to Dubai Askar Shokybayev welcomed those present. A. Mussinov spoke of the roots of the ancient holiday that marks the beginning of spring on the Kazakh soil.
