Driver killed, 24 school children injured in accident in N. India

NEW DELHI. September 23. KAZINFORM The driver was killed and around 24 children injured Thursday when a school bus overturned in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, reported the Press Trust of India. Kazinform refers to Xinhua.
The incident took place in the Mau district when the private school bus overturned after the driver applied emergency brake, said the report quoting police sources.
The bus driver was killed on the spot. The injured were admitted to a hospital.
Road accident rate in India is among the highest in the world, with at least 100,000 killed each year on the road. Kazinform cites Xinhua.
