Drilling and blasting operations suspended in Karaganda rgn after earthquake

KARAGANDA. KAZINFORM - Drilling and blasting operations in mines of Karaganda region suspended due the earthquake occurred on Saturday, this has been announced today at a press conference by the head of the regional Emergency Department Talgat Nurmagambetov.
Talgat Nurmagambetov also reported that drilling and blasting operation have been temporarily suspended in Karaganda region. Currently mines are operating in a planned manner. It bears to remind that June 21 at in the Karaganda region 4.8 magnitude earthquake occurred. The epicenter was located 26 km from the city of Karaganda, 7 km from the town of Abay, at the depth of 40 km. There were no casualties or damages reported.
