Diyas, doubles partner retire from 2014 US Open quarterfinal match

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan's Zarina Diyas together with Chinese Yi-Fan Xu have retired from the women's doubles event of the 2014 US Open in New York tonight, Kazinform has learnt from Vesti.kz.
In the quarterfinal match Diyas and Xu lost the first set to the third seeded Cara Black from Zimbabwe and Sania Mirza from India 1:6 and were down 0:1 in the second one.
The 20-year-old Diyas reached the third round of the tournament in women's singles event succumbing to Ekaterina Makarova of Russia in straight sets 2:6, 4:6.
