Dialogue initiated by Nazarbayev in Kazakhstan ensures tolerance: T. Rød-Larsen
President of the International Peace Institute Terje Rød-Larsen voiced his opinion at the 10th Eurasian Media Forum at the KazMediaCenter in Astana.
Terje Rød-Larsen spoke in favor of soft components in fight against terrorism citing Kazakhstan's example.
"We should consider using a softer component and by that I mean preventing terrorism. It could be a dialogue, for instance, the dialogue initiated by Kazakh leader Nursultan Nazarbayev here in Kazakhstan. This, probably, is one of the important instruments in ensuring tolerance and respect as regards various values in the world and religions," he said.
According to the Norwegian diplomat, it is necessary to concentrate on the soft measures in fight against terrorism and that is education, raising awareness and terrorism prevention.
