KAZINFORM "The issues of world nuclear security outlined in the Kazakh President's article "Global peace and nuclear security" are topical and timely as long as the efforts of the world community aimed at provision of nuclear security are still insufficient and not effective enough to guarantee human security from military nuclear disasters", Chief research worker of the National Nuclear Center, laureate of the State Prize in the field of science and technique, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor Zhenis Zhotabayev commented on the article.

The suggestions of the President on development of new universal Treaty on comprehensive horizontal and vertical non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and adoption of the Treaty banning the production of fissile materials for military purposes deserve full support, the professor noted.

Development of peaceful nuclear programs as unalienable right of sovereign states is an important thesis in their comprehensive development. This should be a prerogative of states possessing nuclear weapons and nuclear arsenal.

"I hope that the issues outlined in the N.Nazarbayev's article and his new initiatives will be comprehended by the world community, become the subject of fruitful discussion at the coming Global Summit on nuclear security in Washington and be taken into account in making decisions for provision of nuclear security in the world", Z.Zhotabayev said.
