Development of agro-industrial complex discussed by State Commission for Economy Modernization

MKENT. October 30. KAZINFORM. /Tatyana Pylayeva/ The issues of development of Kazakhstan's agro-industrial complex have been discussed at the sitting of the State Commission for Economy Modernization chaired by Prime Minister Karim Massimov in South Kazakhstan region today.

The session was held in "Altyn Orda" Business Center. The participants considered a Draft Program of Kazakhstan Agro-Industrial Complex Development for 2010-2014. Its main purpose is to increase competitiveness of the agrarian sector of economy and ensure food security. Its realization should be based on effective agricultural production and formation of export resources with the purpose of taking leading positions in the external markets.

During the talks with the representatives of southern agro-industrial complex and "Ontustik" Socio-Entrepreneurial Corporation special attention was paid to the issue of production with stable sales markets, transit to new types and mechanisms of subsidizing allowing to implement advanced technologies and increase production competitiveness. The opportunities of uniting and crediting of small farms, introduction of modern technologies were also discussed.

The Government considers that every tenge budgeted in the real sector will allow to yield production for 1.9 tenge. The major effect will be reached after completion of the state program. Payback period of projects is more than five years. As a result the internal market will be fully provided with domestic products; export potential of the branch will reach 8% in the total volume of the country's export.
