Deputy PM Issekeshev instructs to work out recommendations for tourism development

Asset Issekeshev has instructed to develop universal recommendations for all the regions of the country on how to label pointers, attractions and driving directions so that they were understood by foreign tourists. Akimats of West Kazakhstan, Kostanay and Karaganda regions have been recommended to create separate divisions for tourism development.

Deputy PM also ordered to prepare in early 2014 a meeting of the Board of Tourism under the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan which will comprehensively discuss the development of domestic tourism.

According to the chairman of the committee of the tourism industry MINT Marat Yigaliyev, income from organizations representing services in the field of tourism in Kazakhstan for 5 years has increased by 95% and amounted to KZT 151.6 bln in 2012. The number of travel companies increased by 767 units and in 2012 amounted to 1994. The most popular places for tourists in Kazakhstan became Almaty, Astana, South Kazakhstan region (Turkestan, Saryagash) and Shuchinsk-Borovoy resort area.

Following the meeting Issekeshev also instructed the Committee of tourism industry to work out and sign memoranda on domestic tourism enhancement with Akimats of regiona and cities of Astana and Almaty. Special attention is paid to the preparation of tourism opportunities in the framework of "Expo-2017".
