Delhi reports surge in swine flu cases
India's Delhi has recorded a significant increase in H1N1 (swine flu) infections this year, with 1,777 cases confirmed so far, according to data from the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Qazinform News Agency reports, citing ANI.
The figure marks a sharp rise compared to the same period last year.
Medical experts warn that heightened vigilance and public awareness are essential to curb the spread. Dr. Arjun Dang, CEO of Dr Dang’s Lab, noted a surge in testing requests and dozens of positive cases in recent weeks. He emphasized that timely diagnosis is critical, with molecular testing systems now delivering results within hours.
Authorities and health specialists recommend strict adherence to preventive measures, such as regular hand hygiene, mask use, isolation and medical consultation. Dr. Dang also advised people from high-risk groups to seek medical advice if they see new or worsening illness symptoms.
