Delegation of People’s Assembly of Kazakhstan met with Russian Deputies

Opinions on dynamics of the development of interstate relations in the political, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian spheres were shared at the meeting. The sides complimented the level of interaction in a range of directions of the foreign policy of states achieved by two countries during last years.

Y.Tugzhanov briefed on the main purposes and tasks of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan. According to him, one of the main purposes of the visit of the Kazakh delegation is extension of the scientific cooperation with Russia on interethnic and interconfessional issues. The work in this sphere will be coordinated by specially established scientific-expert council under the Assembly.

As Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee for CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots Alexei Ostrovsky noted, Russia and Kazakhstan are connected not only by historic past but also by many other relations. According to him, the joint membership of two countries in a range of international organization such as the CIS, CSTO, EurAsEC, and SCO allows to say about common positions of the countries. The Russian Deputy highly appraised the measures taken in Kazakhstan on support of the development of the Russian language and culture.

"Kazakhstan is the most sustainable partner of the Russian Federation on the post soviet space. The program of interregional cooperation is actively developing. The State Duma respects Kazakh Leader Nursultan Nazarbayev who being at the post of the President declared himself as one of the wisest leaders of post soviet countries", he said.
