Defense Minister hands over keys to apartments to families of officers killed in the crash of Su-27

Magripa Sarkynova and Lyubov Gorbunova have received three- and two-bedroom apartments on the basis of the decision of the housing commission of Akmola regional garrison, the press service of the Ministry of Defense reports. "We are paying tribute and respect to officers who have made a real feat and gave their lives to save civilians. Their names will forever be in the hearts of millions of Kazakhs," said the Minister of Defense I.Tasmagambetov. It bears to remind that September 23, 2014 Su-27 military aircraft disappeared from radars of Taldykorgan airbase carrying out training flights. There were two pilots onboard - Lieutenant Colonel Y. Nauanov and Lt. Col. D. Gorbunov. During search operations the crashed plane was discovered in Koksusky area, 15 km from the village Zhanalyk. Colonel Yerlan Nauanov and Lt. Col. Denis Gorbunov have been posthumously awarded II degree "Aibyn" orders.
