Declaration of 1st Summit of Turkic Speaking States Cooperation Council adopted in Almaty

MATY. October 21. KAZINFORM /Aigul Turysbekova/ Upon the results of the First Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Roza Otunbaeva and Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Bekir Bozdağ adopted the declaration.
At a final press conference Nursultan Nazarbayev said they developed a mechanism to counter the global economic crisis. "Our goal is to promote Turkic-speaking countries in the world. Our countries need to fully utilize their existing transit potential."
"Also, Turkic speaking states must strengthen humanitarian and economic cooperation," the Kazakh President noted.
"It's a great honor to be the first chairman of the Turkic Council Summit. The next meeting will take place next year in Bishkek," Nazarbayev added.
