December Summit in Astana to give additional impetus to work of OSCE in ensuring gender equality – Marc Perrin de Brichambaut

VIENNA. September 16. KAZINFORM /Timur Bekturganov/ The upcoming events within the OSCE - the Summit of the Organization on December 1-2 and preparatory conferences that are to be held in Vienna, Warsaw and Astana will give an additional impetus to the work of member states of the Organization in the sphere of ensuring gender equality. OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut said it at the sitting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Hofburg Palace on Thursday.
At the sitting he presented the annual report on the realization of the OSCE Action Plan in gender sphere. In accordance with it the Organization has succeeded a lot in ensuring gender balance.
'The OSCE member states took the responsibilities for ensuring gender balance setting it as a priority within the Organization and at the national level as well. Today we can proudly say that the Organization is on the right course. This is the first time in history of the Organization when women managers made one third', Marc Perrin de Brichambaut noted.
