1979 – Tengiz oilfield is discovered in the west of Kazakhstan. The first well in this area produces oil from subsalt formations at a depth of 4,045-4,095 meters.

1992 – Kazakhstan adopts the Law “On social protection of citizens affected by nuclear tests at the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Testing Site.”

2010 – Kazakhstan represented by the National Space Research Center joins Sentinel Asia international project aimed at combating natural disasters using Earth remote sensing and GIS-WEB technologies in the Asian region.

2015 – Book “Chokan Valikhanov” by Kazakh writer Zharylkap Beissenbaiuly is published in Russian in Moscow.

2016 - Jordanian writer and political figure Muna Fuad Makhamreh releases her book in Arabic «Kazakhstan: The Symphony of Pain and Hope» dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence and closure of the Semipalantinsk Nuclear Testing Site.

2017 – Young Kazakh singer Daneliya Tuleshova wins Voice.Kids vocal competition in Ukraine.

2017 – Kazakh team secures 1st place in the ZAG Junior Cup international gymnastics tournament in Hannover, Germany.

2019 - Dimash Qudaibergen performs the soundtrack to the Italian fantasy blockbuster "Creators".

2021 - Serbia issues a postage stamp in honor of the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations with Kazakhstan and the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence. The envelope depicts the monument to the Victor, located at the Kalemegdan fortress in Belgrade, and the “Kazakh Eli” Monument, located in the capital of Kazakhstan and personifies the independence of the republic. The postage stamp block depicts the two countries’ capitals as well as spectacular sceneries of Kazakhstan (Big Almaty Lake, Sharyn Canyon) and Serbia (Uvac River and Davolja Varos rocks)
