Death toll from bus accident in Novosibirsk region rises to 9

KRASNOYARSK, the Siberia. July 20. KAZINFORM  The death toll from a bus accident in the Novosibirsk region that occurred on the Novosibirsk-Pavlodar highway early on Monday has risen to nine, sources at the Siberian regional State Traffic Safety Inspectorate told Itar-Tass,  Kazinform cites ITAR-TASS.

They said 37 more people were hospitalised with different injuries. Earlier, the information department of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations reported that there had been 47 passengers and two drivers in the bus. Eight people were killed, 36 were delivered to hospitals in Ordynskoye and Novosibirsk, while five people received no injuries, they said. Eight hospitalised passengers are in a grave condition.

The passenger bus that was heading from Tomsk for Yarovoye turned over near the Ordynskoye settlement on the 103rd kilometer of the Novosibirsk-Pavlodar highway. A source at the interior department of the Ordynsky district told Itar-Tass that the bus driver could have fallen asleep behind the steer wheel, Kazinform refers to ITAR-TASS.
