Deadly train crash near Buenos Aires
The accident happened near the Castelar station, some 30km (19 miles) west of the capital, when a passenger train hit a stationary train that was empty.
At least three people are still trapped, the Clarin newspaper reports.
Rescue crews and volunteers are at the scene helping the injured. Dozens of ambulances are also at the crash site.
"I heard a loud noise and everyone started falling down, and people were shocked and crying," 26-year-old passenger Lida was quoted as saying by the AFP news agency.
Train operator spokesman Pablo Gunning was quoted in the local media as saying there were "various fatalities" after the collision at about 07:30 local time (10:30 GMT).
The accident happened on the Sarmiento rail line, where 51 people died and more than 700 were injured in a train crash in February 2012.
