Day of Astana to be given coverage by more than 1, 000 local and foreign reporters

ASTANA. June 19. KAZINFORM - On the Day of Astana there will be a celebratory cake, which will be cut on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev to mark the 15th anniversary of the capital city. This has been announced today at a press briefing in the Presidential central communications service by the head of the media group on preparation and holding of the 15th anniversary of the capital Zhanar Kolbachaeva.

She says the festival program this summer includes about 100 events. 20 of them are concerts and festivals, and about 50 are mass street events, including sports, music competitions involving a large number of guests. There will also be nearly 20 cultural, educational and ideological developments.

As before, during celebrations of the capital the Internal Affairs Department personnel will be working under enhanced way of service. According to Zhanar Kolbachaeva, law and order in the capital will be guarded by more than 1,000 police officers.

Organizers are expecting over 120 thousand people coming to Astana. Another interesting fact is that for coverage of all events there will be more than 1,000 accredited local and foreign journalists. Representatives of Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the United States, Britain, China and other countries will cover the 15th annoversary of Astana. All arrangements will be broadcast live and recorded via national television channels.
