Damage from fires in Kazakhstan exceeds 2.3 billion tenge

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Over the 9 months of the current year, 11 119 fires have occurred in Kazakhstan, this has been informed today at a briefing in the Emergency Situations Committee under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Fires have killed 242 people, injured 463. Damage from fires occurred in Kazakhstan over 9 month of the current year exceeds KZT 2.3 billion. "The number of fires, compared with the same period of the last year, increased by 16%, the amount of property damage decreased by 22%, the number of dead people has decreased by 15%, and the number of persons suffered injuries grew by 16%", said the Colonel of the Fire Service Meyrambek Kaysanov. According to him, the largest number of fires occurred in residential sectors - 7384 fires (67%). If compared to the same period 2013 this figure has increased by 18%.
