Customs Union members about to remove exemptions from trade in agricultural products

MOSCOW. KAZINFORM The Customs Union member states are close to reaching an agreement regarding trade in agricultural products without exemptions and restrictions. The statement was made by Sergei Sidorsky, Minister for Industry and Agribusiness of the Eurasian Economic Commission, in Moscow on 26 February, BelTA has learned.

"We have virtually reached understanding that Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan will remove all the exemptions and restrictions regarding agribusiness," said Sergei Sidorsky.

He added that the future treaty on establishing the Eurasian Economic Union will have two articles dedicated to agribusiness. The articles will stipulate the common policy of the three countries in this sphere as well as measures to subsidize and support this branch of the economy.

According to the Minister for Industry and Agribusiness, the presidents of Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan are supposed to consider these sections of the draft treaty at the forthcoming meeting in Moscow on 11 March, BelTA reports.
