Vladimir Labinov took part in the international seminar "Biomembrane processes, technologies, equipment for processing milk whey and the manufacturing of functional products using them. Legislative environment and control over dairy products in Russia and the Customs Union". The event began in Mogilev on 20 August, according to BelTA.

The specialist said that radical technological changes in milk production and processing have taken place in Belarus recently. As a result, the steady product quality earns the ever growing trust of customers, including Russian ones. The Belarusian dairy industry is lucky that the country's leadership pays close attention to the industry's development. The government provides support at all levels, with considerable funds channeled into retooling the industry, remarked Vladimir Labinov. It is also important that Belarusians are now working hard to centralize the dairy industry. In the future it will enable more effective operation while allowing more successful promotion of brands on foreign markets.

For now Russian agricultural companies can satisfy 80% of their country's dairy market demand. The country imports the rest. Belarus is one of the key partners in this area. Prices for dairy products are being equalized on the Customs Union market. Step by step Belarus is getting away from being recognized as a cheap product supplier. Only quality gives a competitive edge. "This is why we buy your products. I am convinced that cooperation in this area can last for years if the Belarusian dairy market avoids the fate of some well-known brands, which have let standards slide and now widely use dairy substitutes instead of natural raw materials," said Vladimir Labinov.

Hosted by Mogilev on 20-22 August, the seminar gathered specialists to discuss the development of the global dairy industry and modern membrane technologies to process milk. Leading specialists of dairy industry institutes and dairy industry companies are expected to make reports. As part of the seminar business meetings with Russian and foreign manufacturers and suppliers of equipment, packaging materials, and components will be held. The guests will also get familiar with the experience of a dairy factory of the Belarusian company OAO Babushkina Krynka.
