Customs terminal set to be opened on Kazakh-Uzbek border
The construction of a new customs terminal at the Duat ata border post in Karakalpakstan nears completion, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

According to the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, the terminal, built in the area of 6 ha, is supplied with modern equipment. Hotels, maintenance points and a parking lot, that can hold 350 tucks at a time, are located nearby the customs post.
The opening of the border post coincides with the competition of the construction of Kungrad-Beinee road, which will significantly increase the efficiency of foreign economic operations via Duat ata.

To note, early this year the working group members familiarized with the repairs underway at the customs posts Zhibek zholy – Gishtkoprik and Kaplanbek – Navoiy, increasing the cross-border capacity between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan by three-fold.
