Current Parliament session most crucial - Nazarbayev

ASTANA. September 1. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ The 5th session of the Parliament of the fourth convocation will be the most crucial, said Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev opening a joint session of the Parliament on Thursday, September 1.
"The forthcoming 5th session will require us all great responsibility and discipline, because this session falls on the 20th anniversary of independence. On December 16, 1991 there was adopted the Constitutional Law "On State Sovereignty." Thanks to this law the independence of our country has been proclaimed," Nazarbayev stressed.
According to the President, the current session is of particular importance because it will summarize the work of the Parliament of the fourth convocation. The composition of the Majilis was first formed on party lists. Deputies, who have been for the first time elected from the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan, also work in the Majilis.
