CU reps discuss protection of domestic markets

The round table was held in Kostanay city and was attended by members of the Eurasian Economic Commission. They familiarized themselves with the experience of Kostanay region within the Customs Union. Deputy Mayor of the region Murat Daribayev, who oversees economic affairs, told the attendees that the removal of barriers between the markets of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus had a positive impact on the development and growth of production. According to Daribayev, in 2013 the foreign trade turnover of Kostanay region amounted to USD 1.5 billion. Since the beginning of the current year the figure rose by 6.6%. However, several speakers noted that the main benefits can be seen only on the examples of large producers (iron ore and grain exporters of Kostanay region).
