CU open for other countries, EurAsEC Sec Gen

ASTANA. May 4. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ "The Customs Union is open for other countries and accession to the Union is a sovereign choice of every state," said Secretary General of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) Tair Mansurov during the panel session themed "Global and regional integration - new economic growth opportunities" of the IV Astana Economic Forum.
He reminded that Kyrgyzstan has officially made public its intention to joint the CU. He expressed his hope that Tajikistan and other countries will define the CU and the Single Economic Space as a landmark of their development. Thereat, the CU accession is a sovereign choice of every state.
According to Mansurov, in the five years to come it is expected to prepare and adopt 13 international documents which should be signed by the governments of the three states, and 42 various documents to provide efficient functioning of the Single Economic Space.
