CU Agreement on veterinary and sanitary measures to be amended

ASTANA. February 8. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Draft Law "On ratification of the Protocol on amendments to the Agreement of the Customs Union on veterinary and sanitary measures as of December 11, 2009" was considered at a session of the Senate Committee on agriculture and environment.
As Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Saktash Khasenov informed presenting the bill, the Protocol was signed on May 21, 2010 in St. Petersburg between the Customs Union member states.
According to S.Khasenov, the main purpose of the amendments is a reduction of administrative barriers for international trade of goods subjected to veterinary inspection as well as creation of conditions for the Single Economic Space establishment, modernization of the veterinary inspection system in the Customs Union area.
Upon the discussion the Committee decided to submit the bill for consideration of the Senate.
