CSTO police commandos are holding exercise in Rostov region

ROSTOV-ON-DON. June 9. KAZINFORM Police commando units of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO) countries are holding a special exercise at the test range of the Russian Interior Ministry troops Kadamovsky (the Rostov region); Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.

The commandos are part of the CSTO's collective rapid reaction force.

Taking part in the maneuvers are Russian Interior Ministry troops' commandos and special groups from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. All in all 450 servicemen and at least 40 special purpose vehicles and aircraft are involved.

Before the exercise the participants were shown around an exhibition of arms and special hardware. A radar capable of detecting the presence of humans behind walls and a reconnaissance and fire support robot aroused special interest. The exhibition also featured remote control reconnaissance planes and helicopters; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
