Crucial to take additional measures to improve efficiency of SCO internal affairs agencies

ASTANA. April 28. KAZINFORM /Kanat Kulshmanov/ Shanghai Cooperation Organization participating states should take additional measures to increase efficiency of work of internal affairs and public security departments. SCO Secretary General Muratbek Imanaliyev said on Thursday in Astana.
"Today the struggle against organized crime, drug trafficking and illegal migration, accompanied by the emergence of new threats and challenges is becoming increasingly important. There is no doubt that it is needed to strengthen cooperation in combating terrorism," Imanaliyev noted.
In this regard, M. Imanaliyev expressed confidence that the decisions taken during the second meeting of heads of SCO internal affairs ministries would give additional impetus to the full cooperation of the internal and public security agencies of the participating countries and would promote the development of new areas of cooperation.
