Crown Prince Philip of Belgium visited Almaty

The issues of cooperation on environment, education, healthcare, tourism and other spheres were discussed. The Mayor of Almaty expressed interest in Belgian projects on waste recycling and drinking water purification. "We are ready for cooperation in this field", E. Yessimov noted.

Almaty provides the fifth part of the country's GDP, the fourth part of tax revenues, about 50% of the volume of wholesale and retail operations, and nearly the sixth part of the external trade turnover. The city is going to develop in several directions: finance, tourism and healthcare, science, innovations and education, transport and logistics. Besides, presently the city has a high investment attractiveness. The international agency Fitch Ratings confirmed the investment rating of Almaty at the level of BB +.

In this context Prince Philip expressed intention to call on Belgian businessmen to invest in the economy of Almaty city.
