Crimean baby killed by escaped monkey

SEVASTOPOL. KAZINFORM - A baby has died in the Crimean city of Sevastopol after being attacked by a monkey that escaped from a small private zoo.
Russia's Interior Ministry said the 65-year-old owner of the zoo was cleaning the monkey's cage on July 10 when it ran away and jumped over a nearby fence, according to rferl.com .
Officials say the monkey attacked a month-and-half-old baby who was sleeping in a stroller in a neighboring yard. The baby's parents were not able to save the child. The monkey was later captured.
Charges against the zoo owner are reported to be pending.
