Council of Europe on partnership with TURKSOY
Dyussen Kasseinovv told the representatives of the Council of Europe about the activity of the TURKSOY and noted that the two organizations are the members of the UNESCO. In this regard he informed of the meeting with UNESCO Director General Koichiro Matsuura held the day before in Paris.
The proposal of the TURKSOY head to create an intercultural dialogue and cooperation with the Council of Europe was accepted by Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni, who also suggested signing a joint activity memorandum in the near future.
The TURKSOY head pointed out that the year of 2010 is declared the Year of rapprochement of cultures, and the related activities will be organized by Kazakhstan. In this connection he called the Council of Europe to join together efforts. Gabriella Battaini-Dragoni told about the "White Book" about intercultural dialogue approved by the Committee of Ministers of 47 member countries of the Council of Europe.
At the end of the talks Dyussen Kasseinov presented a book about the achievements of the TURKSOY in connection with the 15th anniversary of the Organization.
