Coordinated information policy important for CSTO
Vladimir Zainetdinov remarked that the forum and similar events help shape the common information space. Matters concerning information security were discussed among other ones at the forum. "The implementation of a coordinated information policy is important for us. The CSTO has such a policy, the relevant plan has been adopted. Taking part in the media forum allows exchanging opinions, hearing out experts, and coming to terms on specific issues," he said, BelTA reports.
While speaking about the formation of the common information space in the Union State, Grigory Rapota, State Secretary of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, remarked that it is necessary to determine what a common information space is and then decide whether the Union State truly needs it. "And if we do need it, it is necessary to enable equal working conditions for reporters of Russia and Belarus," said Grigory Rapota. "Once we have answers to these questions, we will be able to accomplish all tasks rather fast".
"If the goal is understandable, it is possible to use instruments of the Permanent Committee of the Union State and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia to accomplish the goal," noted the official.
