Cooperation prospects within EurAsEC and CU to be discussed in Almaty

ALMATY. September 23. KAZINFORM /Aigul Turysbekova/ Topical issues and prospects of cooperation between member states of Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) and Customs Union (CU) will be discussed in Almaty on Friday.

51st sitting of the CIS Economic Council, 55th sitting of EurAsEC Integration Committee and 31st sitting of Customs Union Commission will consider the improvement of the national authorities, including the organization of the CU Commission's work, formation and organization of the EurAsEC Court's activities, forming the Single Economic Space and a coordinated policy of EurAsEC member states in labor sphere.

The EurAsEC was formed by the presidents of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan on October 10, 2000 in Astana. In January 2006, Uzbekistan joined the Community. In May 2002, Moldova and Ukraine were granted observer status within EurAsEC. Armenia acquired the observer status in April 2003. In 2008 Uzbekistan left the EurAsEC.
