Cooperation between OSCE and its Mediterranean partners ensure security and stability in region – K. Abdrakhmanov

VIENNA. October 15. KAZINFORM /Timur Bekturganov/ Exchange of experience and active cooperation between the OSCE and its Mediterranean partners ensure security and stability in the region. Chairman of the OSCE Permanent Council, Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the OSCE Kairat Abdrakhmanov said it at the annual Mediterranean conference in Valletta on Thursday.
The topic to discuss at the conference in the capital of Malta included discussing the prospects of cooperation between the OSCE member countries and their Mediterranean partners - Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia. Such strategic spheres as consolidating trust and regional security, common countering of economic and environmental challenges and ensuring tolerance and nondiscrimination were among discussion.
OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut noted that the conference in Valletta might contribute considerably to successful holding of the Summit of the OSCE in Astana.
