President of the Association of farms and agricultural cooperatives in Russia Vladimir Plotnikov described the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between farmers' organizations in four countries of the CIS "a historic landmark in the life of the peasants of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine".

"For the first time since the collapse of a single state a major step has been made ​​ towards strengthening fraternal relations and business cooperation of the peasantry of our countries", he said.

"In today's world it is impossible to effectively defend our interests alone, and the joint efforts of peasant organizations is the requirement of the time " says Mr. Plotnikov.

Farmers of four countries together will seek solutions to common problems such as pricing of agricultural products and its implementation, eliminating middlemen' dictate , achievement of equal conditions for competition in the WTO , attracting young people to rural areas.
