Coop between European Commission and Kazakhstan in struggle against corruption discussed

The experience of the European countries in struggle against corruption, the European legislation on this issue and cooperation between the European Commission and Kazakhstan in the corruption struggle were discussed at the meeting. Kazakh experts on corruption issues, representatives of international organizations, accredited in Kazakhstan took part in the workshop.

According to Head of the Almaty Department on struggle against economic and corruption criminality Talgat Saduakasov, modernization of the anti-corruption legislation and adjustment of its norms to the international standards is one of the prior directions of the anti-corruption strategy of the state.   

Signing of the Law on ratification of the UN Convention against corruption developed by the state financial police is an important step in strengthening of the international cooperation. Over 147 countries joined the Convention. "Signing the Law Kazakhstan got access to the system of international cooperation in the field of struggle against corruption and extended opportunities of the law-enforcement bodies in detection and return of illegally acquaired property", T.Sduakasov said.
