Construction of Balkhash Thermal Power Station to be launched within video conference with President's participation

ASTANA. June 24. KAZINRORM /Damir Baimanov/ Construction of the Balkhash Thermal Power Station will be launched during a video conference with the participation of President Nursultan Nazarbayev on June 28, 2010. First Vice-Minister of Industry and New Technologies Albert Rau made it public at a briefing on Thursday.
"Yesterday at the sitting of the State Commission for Economy Modernization we discussed the major projects including those planned to be launched in the second half of the year. We expect to launch now around 47 projects, some of them have already been started. Launch of the Balkhash Thermal Power Station is scheduled for June 28", A. Rau said.
As is known, in accordance with the Industrialization Map of Kazakhstan 72 investment projects worth KZT 343 bln are planned to be launched in the first half of 2010 which will allow providing over 10 thousand people with jobs. The amount of the investments in these projects made KZT 326 bln.
