Constitution of Kazakhstan ensures freedom of peaceful meetings

KAZINFORM The Constitution of Kazakhstan ensures freedom of peaceful meetings in Kazakhstan; Judge of Supreme Court Akyltai Kassimov who participated in Regional Round Table 'The Freedom of Association in Central Asian Countries' held in Bishkek informed of it; the press-service of the Kazakh Supreme Court said.

Representatives of state bodies and non-governmental organizations from Central Asian countries, representatives of national institutes on human rights discussed the issues concerning correspondence of national legislation to the international standards, familiarized with the review of the international standards in freedom of association.

According to A. Kassimov the guarantees of freedom of peaceful assembly in Kazakhstan are mentioned in the Constitution, which legal regulation is provided by the Law "On order of organization and holding of peaceful meetings, pickets and demonstrations in Kazakhstan".

The state takes measures on compliance with the rights and as a whole they are observed. It can be proved by the number of appeals to courts on violation of rights.

The right for freedom of association is provided by the OSCE responsibilities on human measurement as well as in principal international documents on human rights. According to them the OSCE and 56 member-states must create all conditions in order each human being could have his rights and principal freedoms.
