Confirmed A/H1N1 swine flu cases worldwide top 11,000, with 80 deaths

MOSCOW. May 21. KAZINFORM A total of 11,034 people in 41 countries worldwide have been officially diagnosed with the A/H1N1 virus as of 06:00 GMT on Thursday, with 85 deaths, the World Health Organization said in its daily report, Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.

The number of laboratory-confirmed cases rose by 791, and five people have died over the previous 24 hours. New cases have been registered in Mexico (244 cases, three deaths) the United States (241 cases, two deaths), Canada (223 cases), Japan (49), Costa Rica (11), the U.K. (7), Panama (4), Spain (4), Australia (2), China (1), Cuba (1), France (1), Guatemala (1), Italy (1), Norway (1), Kazinform cites RIA Novosti.
