Conf to debate perspectives of local self-governance development in Kazakhstan
This conference will bring together some 60 parliamentarians, mayors from the country's regions, officials from the National Economy, Finance and Justice Ministries, representatives of civil society and international organizations to review the results of the first phase of local self-governance reforms and discuss further steps of its development, the press service of the OSCE Centre in Astana said. Experts from the OSCE Secretariat's Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities, Council of Europe and Mongolia will share international standards and recommendations in the area of local government, capacity-building tools for local authorities as well as provide practical examples of local self-governance reforms in Asia, South-Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus. This event is part of the Centre's work in promoting good governance and democratization in Kazakhstan.
