Concert of the British Philharmonic orchestra held in Astana

The concert program included two musical compositions: instrumental suite “The Soldier’s Tale” by Igor Stravinsky with the participation of a famous Kazakh actor Filipp Voloshin, and a composition “Façade” by William Walton with the participation of a famous British opera singer Katherine Harris. The concert was held under the guidance of the world-renowned conductor Robin O'Neill.

The concert of the Philharmonic orchestra is one of the first in the events series for strengthening of cultural connections between Kazakhstan and Great Britain planned within the framework of the visitation of the British Prime-Minister David Cameron in Kazakhstan this July. The philharmonic orchestra is one of the world’s leading orchestras, being a recognized innovator of the British classical music with impressive history of music records under its belt.
