Commodity turnover between W Kazakhstan and Orenburg region reaches USD 12.1mln
The governor of West Kazakhstan and vice governor of Russia's Orenburg region debated the development of cooperation between the two regions, Kazinform News Agency cites the governor’s press service.

Governor of West Kazakhstan Nariman Turegaliyev paid a working visit to Orenburg region to hold talks with vice-governor, deputy chairman of the government of the Orenburg region for economic investment policy Ignat Petukhov.

The governor reminded the Kazakh President said relations between Kazakhstan and Russia serve as an example of strong friendship. Last January-November the external trade between West Kazakhstan and Russia made 681.6 million US dollars, while commodity turnover between West Kazakhstan and Orenburg region hit 12.1 million US dollars. West Kazakhstan exports gas, barley, and ferrous waste and scrap, while Orenburg region exports grain and dairy products, concrete and metal products.
The parties also focused on cooperation in healthcare, education, science, culture, agriculture and others.
The Kazakh governor invited representatives of Orenburg region to attend the XXI Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia with the participation of the Heads of State. It will serve as a platform to discuss new joint initiatives and strengthen partnership relations.
Following the talks, the sides agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation.
It was reported earlier, Kazakhstan, Russia set to raise bilateral commodity turnover to $30bln.
