Commissioner for HR in Kazakhstan met with ex-President of Supreme Court of Finland

The project 'Equality before the law: access to the justice in Central Asia' was discussed during the meeting.  

The main aim of the project is to raise legal consciousness, informing on ways and mechanisms of protection of vulnerable population's rights, including women, children and disabled people.

A. Shakirov informed on the system complex work in this direction, which is one of the priorities of his activity.

In turn, P. Hallberg told that the access to the court procedures is a key principle of the supremacy of the law concept stated in the international conventions, and its implementation is really important with relation to human rights.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed this project has a significant meaning for Kazakhstan and expressed interest in further cooperation.
