CNPC invested above USD 34 bln in Kazakhstan for 17 years

BEIJING. KAZINFORM "For the past 17 years of its activities in Kazakhstan CNPC has invested above USD 34 bln in the country. We gave employment to 34,000 of Kazakhstanis, trained 130,000 of Kazakh workers, including those 327 students sent abroad," Lu Gongxiong, CNPC deputy director general said.
According to him, CNPC allocated 2,9 bln cu m of gas for the Almaty region heating needs at the low cost price, 16 bln cu m for the Aktobe region. "Besides, CNPC - Aktobemunaigas invested USD 1,2 for the construction of a gas processing plant and a gas-fired plant. It also forwarded above USD 300 mln for social purposes, including construction of a dance school," he told the 8th sitting of the Sino-Kazakh subcommittee for energy cooperation held in Beijing.
