ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan's Minister of Environment and Water Resources predicts land degradation and lack of water resources for landlocked Central Asian republic in the future.

"Climate change will take toll on Kazakhstan," Minister of Environment and Water Resources Nurlan Kapparov said at the Central Communications Service press conference on Wednesday. "Landlocked Kazakhstan is exposed to climate change more than other regions. Land degradation and lack of water resources are the problems we will face in the future." Minister Kapparov also underlined that ‘basically all regions in Kazakhstan will experience so-called "water stress" sooner or later.' In his words, the State Program on water resources management highlights measures that can be taken to mend the situation.
