CIS to hold Forum of Regions in late 2015

"We have approved the plan of preliminary preparations for the forum, agreed on a list of the members of the organizing committee and participants of the working group. The forum is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2015," informed the press service of the Moscow Office of the CIS Executive Committee, BelTA reports.

It is expected that the forum will be attended by the heads of government bodies, regional and local authorities, members of the national parliaments, representatives of public organizations, businesses, scholars and intellectuals.

"The CIS development concept highlights the need to strengthen the regional component of multilateral cooperation between the CIS member states in the economic, social and cultural areas, to consolidate friendship and good-neighborliness. The upcoming forum is designed to bolster direct partnerships between regions, to become a new mechanism of such interaction," informed the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
