CIS to discuss youth cooperation strategy

MINSK. October 13. KAZINFORM The CIS international youth cooperation strategy will be high on the agenda of the meeting of the CIS experts in Minsk on 13-14 October, the CIS Executive Committee told BelTA.

According to BelTA, the strategy will be the key document in the CIS youth cooperation through 2020. The document will intensify the activity of state youth organizations in the CIS, expand the practice of conducting events in the Commonwealth with the participation of young people.

The document was approved by the CIS heads of state in late 2010. The youth council together with other CIS bodies engaged in humanitarian cooperation has received instructions to draft and submit to the CIS Council of Heads of Government an action plan on the implementation of the document.

The document was drafted taking into account the proposals received from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia and Tajikistan.

The 2012-2013 action plan will envisage measures for implementing 15 provisions of the strategy. They include equal access to high-quality education, new educational forms, vocational training and enhancement of qualifications, assistance in employment and career growth, support to socially vulnerable youth, creation of favorable conditions for involving young people in business activities.
