CIS Permanent Representatives met in Minsk

The CIS Permanent Representatives began the session with a minute of silence in memory of those killed in the recent terrorist attack in Moscow Domodedovo airport.

This session was the first meeting held under the chairmanship of Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the statutory and other bodies of the CIS Kozidovlat Koimdodov.

K.Koimdodov said in an interview to journalists that the Tajik side keeping the reins of power in their hands would be committed to the principles of continuity, development of integration processes on a pragmatic basis. "We intend to focus our efforts on achieving conceptual and strategic goals of the Commonwealth outlined in the Concept of the CIS Further Development, the Strategy of Economic Development till 2020 and the Action Plan on Celebration of the 20^th anniversary of the Commonwealth", he said.

2011 is announced the Year of Food Security in the CIS. In this regard, Dushanbe will pay special attention to implementation of the joint measures to improve the food security.

The focus will be laid on the CIS member states' cooperation in the energy sphere, transport, social and labor relations and migration, environment protection, struggle against new threats and challenges to the security, humanitarian sphere.

K.Komodirov assured that Tajikistan during its presidency would closely cooperate with the Commonwealth member states, CIS Executive Committee in all spheres.
